Stephanie Park
Congratulations to Stephanie Park for her participation in the Internship Office Strut Your Stuff 2009 Internship Showcase! Stephanie, a senior majoring in Exercise Science, completed an internship with a family living abroad in the Dominican Republic. She lived with an American family working for the Foreign Services and tutored their son who has ADD/ADHD. Some of Stephanie’s responsibilities included tutoring the 11-year old boy for four hours every morning and engaging all three of the family’s kids in fun activities and regular exercise in the afternoon. Yet Stephanie still had the opportunity to explore the Dominican Republic and experience the culture there. She was able to barter for items at the local market, try new foods, and enjoy the beautiful beaches. “Through all of my experiences on this internship, I gained valuable life skills,” says Stephanie. “It is an experience I will never forget and always reflect on.”
