The student completes all prerequisites, secures an internship with the provider of his or her choice and contacts his or her department's internship coordinator to obtain approval and initiate required paperwork.
Paperwork is completed by the department internship coordinator, student and the experience provider, and the student sets academic learning objectives with his or her advisor and experience provider.
The department internship coordinator will determine if there is a signed master internship agreement between the experience provider and the university by searching the Current Experience Provider Database. If there is not a signed agreement on file, one must be signed and submitted to the Internship Office prior to the beginning of the internship.
The student enrolls through AIM for normal internships or through Evening Classes for Semester Away.
The student completes the internship and all assignments and evaluations as outlined by the department, and receives a grade from the department's internship coordinator.
